Orchids Galore

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

One glamorous industry that the Philippines can be developed into a big business is the production of cutflowers particularly orchids. As a tropical country, the Philippines is home to different orchid varieties both native and hybrids. Many Filipino homes and gardens are adorned with one or two kinds of orchid. It is no wonder then that many hobbyists and entrepreneurs are engaged in orchid growing.

Here are some of my photos of orchids which I took at a garden show. By the way, for those interested in the orchid business, you may contact the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD) at Los Banos, Laguna.

Two things sa unemployment:demand at supply.

These are beautiful pictures Glampinoy. Orchids are my favorite flowers.

Orchids should indeed be developed. These are considered as exotic flowers and could be exported too. Good post.
